Teen psychologist is looking for a job
A licensed clinical psychologist is in the market for a new position.
It’s one of a number of jobs for teen psychologists in the U.S.
A growing number of states are now requiring teens to get an additional credential to work in the field, according to a National Conference of State Legislatures report.
The National Association of Clinical Psychology Boards (NACPBS) says that by 2020, there will be about 1.4 million licensed clinical psychologists.
The organization says the demand for a licensed psychologist is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 5 percent for that time frame.
There are about 3,000 licensed clinical psychology schools in the United States.
About 7,600 of those schools are accredited by NACPbs, the report says.
The other 1,600 schools are not.
The most popular type of licensed clinical therapist is a registered nurse.
The NACPSB said that, overall, licensed clinical therapists in the country are currently employed about 16,000 people, or about 1 in 5 adults.NACPSBs said there are two types of licensed psychologists in this country: the more traditional types that are trained in a clinical setting and the more emerging ones that are working in an educational setting.
The former can be used for clinical practice, while the latter can be employed in education.
Licensed clinical psychologists are typically a career path for those in their 20s and 30s, the NACSBS says.
They typically are in their early 20s, often working part-time and typically making about $15,000 annually.
They also tend to have higher degrees of education.
